Britney Griner was released from Russia today in a 'prisoner swap' with arms dealer Viktor Bout aka The Merchant of Death. With so much going on in the world, the timing seems impeccable. Will the Russia and Ukraine conflict escalate into World War 3?
Britney Griner was released today in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout. Firstly, we are very happy for Britney Griner and her family - we love all human beings, period. With that said, the timing (and "deal") seems strange to say the least. Russia is planning a major winter offensive and the United States military-industrial complex wants to escalate the Russia/Ukraine conflict into a full-fledged World War. I find it ironic that the same day we trade Britney Griner for "The Merchant of Death" (yes, that is Viktor Bout's real nickname), the CEO of Raytheon goes on CNBC to brag about how much the USA is doing to help Ukraine defeat Russia.
