The media is crucial to the survival of a democracy and a democratic society. It is a powerful tool to educate and inform the masses. However, we can no longer consider mainstream media as a reliable source of information. In recent years, the media has been increasingly controlled by a small group of corporations who have a vested interest in exploiting the public. Most of the time, the media is used to relay propaganda that promotes the agendas of these corporations. This is why it's best to learn to be media literate - to read between the lines and figure out what is going on in the world around you.
